Heritage Interlock Revival

Our client reached out because his older interlock walkway needed some serious attention. Weeds had taken over the joints, several areas had become uneven, and the landing was beginning to push out.

He wanted the walkway to be safe and clean again, but he didn't want to lose its original character by replacing everything with new pavers.

Our Recommendation

Since much of the existing interlock was still in good condition, we recommended restoring what was already there.

We re-levelled the uneven areas, corrected the failing landing, cleaned the existing pavers and re-jointed the walkway to give it a fresh, finished look.

Keeping the Character

One of the best parts of restoring older interlock is that you don't have to lose what made the original walkway unique.

Instead of making this space look brand new, our goal was to make the existing walkway look like the best version of itself.

The Result

The walkway is now cleaner, more even and much safer to use while keeping the character our client wanted.

Our favourite feedback came directly from the homeowner: he liked the restored walkway even more than if we had replaced it with a brand-new one.
