Step Cap Restoration | Briargreen
For this project in Briargreen, our focus was on restoring the existing backyard steps by replacing deteriorating step caps with new matching Permacon Celtik coping stones.
Our Recommendation
Our client initially reached out to have just two deteriorating step caps replaced. However, we recommended replacing the entire row to create a more cohesive, intentional finish that blends seamlessly with the existing entrance.
Sometimes, going a little beyond the original scope makes all the difference in achieving a polished, professional result. The original step caps were 16” deep, a size that is no longer manufactured, with the closest available option being 12”. To accommodate this difference, we coordinated a fresh hot asphalt installation behind the new caps, creating a clean, crisp transition between the staircase and driveway.
The result is a seamless, intentional finish that looks like it was always meant to be there.
Rather than replacing the entire staircase, we took a targeted approach to preserve the original structure while improving the appearance, stability, and longevity of the entrance.
The Result
The new caps provide a clean, refreshed finish while complementing the character of the existing stonework.
A thoughtful restoration that extends the life of an existing entrance without the expense of a complete rebuild.
