Classy Front Stoop | Westboro
For this project in Westboro’s Clearview neighbourhood, our clients initially reached out hoping to restore their existing front porch. However, after assessing the original construction, we determined that a complete rebuild would provide a safer, more structurally sound, and longer-lasting solution.
Our Recommendation
Rather than investing in restoring a porch with underlying structural concerns, we recommended starting fresh with a properly constructed, independent structure that doesn’t rely on the home’s exterior siding for support.
For the new design, we recommended Béton Richer M-100 Structural Wall Blocks and Caps, offering a clean, modern appearance with the strength and durability needed for a front entrance.
To complement the new stonework, we incorporated Oaks Market Pavers in Marble Grey into the upper landing, creating a subtle contrast between the smooth coping stones and textured pavers.
The Result
A completely transformed front entrance featuring clean lines, complementary stone finishes, and a modern design that blends naturally with the home’s exterior.
More importantly, the new porch was constructed with proper structural support, providing a durable foundation for years to come.
While restoration is often a great way to extend the life of existing stonework, sometimes a complete rebuild is the smarter long-term investment. This project is a perfect example of knowing when to restore and when to start fresh.
